About the C5 Z06..

The 5th generation Corvette, produced from 1997-2004, was originally available only in a coupe body style. Subsequent years added the convertible and the fixed-roof coupe (FRC) to the lineup, but all used the same aluminum small block engine, the LS1 V8. The game changed in 2001 when Chevy refined the FRC with weight-saving components and additional power in the form of the LS6 V8 engine. This exciting package was dubbed the Z06 – a nod to the ultra-rare, high horsepower beast of the 2nd generation Corvette. By 2003, the LS6 produced 405 hp and 400 lbs-ft of torque.

About the Firehawk..

The Firehawk was a limited edition Firebird, produced by SLP Engineering, and sold through Pontiac dealers. With 2002 being the last production year of the Firebird, and Pontiac itself shutting its doors in 2010, the Firehawk may just have been the last and greatest of the 4th generation F-body Firebirds. About the C6 ZR1..

For the 2009 model year of the 6th generation Corvette, the C6, GM introduced its then highest horsepower production car with the ZR1, an iconic model name previously used on the 3rd and 4th generation Corvettes. Nicknamed the Blue Devil after the then CEO of GM, Rick Wagoner’s, alma mater Duke University, the ZR1 was intended to push the performance of the C6 into proper supercar territory. About the C6 427..

With the production of the 6th generation Corvette coming to a close in 2013, GM decided to make their fastest and most powerful convertible Corvette yet. It’s not a Z06, and it’s not a Grand Sport; it’s the 427. The swan song of the 6th generation, with a limited production run of only one year, and also the last 6th generation Corvette to roll of the assembly line.
